Sew Creative Studio Level 1

Classes will be semi -private with only 3-4 students and the Instructor in each class.

This weekly 1 hr. class introduces students to Basic Sewing using the Kids Can Sew Workbook Level 1 for Girls/Boys or Teens. while working through the Kids Can Sew Workbook students will complete a project approximately every 4 weeks.

This course is appropriate for  beginners or students that have had a little experience. Each student is encouraged to work at their own speed and skill level. 

We will learn to: 

• Purchase fabric that suits the project pattern, based on recommendations from the instructor.
• Prepare a paper pattern from the KCS Workbook to cut out the projects from the book.
• Learn how to properly pin and cut patterns/fabric.
• Following the directions in the workbook, Students will learn to sew pattern pieces together.
• Learn to operate Sew Creative Studio sewing machines (currently Brother NQ575)
• Students will learn many new Sewing Terms such as seam allowance, grainline, names of sewing notions/tools and many terms used in learning to use a sewing machine.
