The beginners sewing class at Tatyana’s School of Couture is now available. You will learn the fundamentals of sewing, from fabric choice to various techniques ensuring a strong foundation through the creation of useful and practical items.
Have you ever wanted to learn how to sew? Perhaps make your own perfectly fitting clothes? Perhaps have a sewing machine that scares you? Struggled to find something suitable at the shops but to no avail?
The beginners sewing class at Tatyana’s School of Couture is now available. You will learn the fundamentals of sewing, from fabric choice to various techniques ensuring a strong foundation through the creation of useful and practical items. These classes are designed to be the first step to enabling you to progress into making your own perfect custom fitted wardrobe, and is recommended to those that also wish to continue through to the intermediate and advanced couture courses.
Tatyana Anderson's heritage is witnessed in the detailed elegance of her luxury bedroom wear collections. Born and trained in couturier designing, pattern making and sewing in Russia.
Tatyana migrated to Melbourne, Australia in 1989. A third generation couturier, she started sewing at the age of 5, "helping" her grandmother with an evening dress for one of her many clients.
She then applied her talents to suits, corsets, children's wear, evening garments and wedding gowns, but it is luxurious and sophisticated bedroom wear that has captured her passion and imagination.
Over 2 classes you will make yourself a simple skirt. You will cover how to read dress patterns, do basic pattern alterations to fit your measurements, cut and prepare fabric for sewing, then sew a skirt with waistband or facing with a zipper to fit you!
Come and join us for a coffee and a chat. Bring along your machine and that project you need to finish or maybe start a new one. You may want to learn how to do something new, we are here to help. Please come and say hello.
Absolute beginners or rusty sewers will have a BALL (Lucille Ball!!) building your sewing skills and knowledge with The Basic Sewing Course. The 6 x 4 hour classes will take you step by step through how to operate your sewing machine, learn different sewing techniques.
Want to learn to sew? From simple mending to alterations, Dressmaking or Patchwork and Quilting, we cover it all. Come along, you'll make new friends, have a laugh and sew lots. You can work on our simple projects or bring along your own items or projects to sew.
