Sewing Course (Adults)

We know it is important to learn in a fun and relaxed way, so we will be teaching you these skills by creating a collection of really useful items; a reusable tote bag, a stylish envelope back cushion with piping, and a zip pouch with lining and sugar bag bottom.

These items are designed to cover all the basic skills needed to venture into more complex projects.

What will I learn?

• fill a bobbin
• thread up a machine
• change the machine feet for different purposes 
• pining paper patterns to fabric
• cutting out your fabric
• sew and neaten seams
• construct a double hem
• sewing a button hole and hand stitching on a button
• the use of top stitching for decoration and functionality
• pressing techniques
• how to insert a zip
• using piping in a seam
• attaching a lining 

We provide sewing machines and sewing essentials for the workshop. Sadly, we are unable to facilitate students bringing in their own machines, but you are more than welcome to bring your own sewing kit with you.
