Interested in learning to sew? In this course, you’ll be taught how to use a sewing machine and learn the basics, and make a custom accessory.
This course will introduce students to the simple techniques of sewing including basic seams, darts, and manipulating techniques such as pleats and gathers. The tutor will give step by step demonstrations and guide you through the process.
You will be encouraged to work independently and be provided additional support when needed.
Having completed a series of samples you will be able to apply your new found skills to a base pattern and make a custom accessory.

On completion of this course you will have produced a selection of fabric samples, and made a finished sewn product.

The 'Learn to Sew' Classes / Workshops are Fun and Informal and a great way to make new friends. They are designed to help you learn the basic techniques to get going on your sewing journey. I will guide you so that you actually understand the sewing machine and sew your own samples.
This is a great introduction into the leather accessories making process and will help you develop essential sewing skills. To start, you will learn how to identify different types of sewing machines both industrial and domestic and have an understanding of what each type of machine is used for.
This course is aimed at absolute beginners who would like to start making clothes, cushions, bags, alterations etc and want to learn a wide range of sewing and construction techniques on a weekly basis to enable them to go onto do this.
The sewing classes have been a great way for attendees to make friends with people with similar interests. Every attendee got the opportunity to socialise in a safe environment, even throughout the pandemic. Attendees could fine-tune their skills or learn from scratch with a professional tutor.
