The Sewing Shoppe aims to inspire people by offering diverse patchwork and dressmaking fabric and courses to create that something special for yourself or others.
Sonia and Sharon believe that sewing is one of the best life skills a person can have, improving hand eye coordination, keeping your brain active and reducing stress and anxiety.
This short course is ideal for beginners interested in learning professional sewing and dressmaking techniques for industrial and domestic machines.
In 2023 we will return to scheduled group classes. Some of these are outlined are Finishing Techniques Part 1: Mattress Stitch - Improve the look of your garments with professional sewing up techniques
You will learn the fundamentals of sewing with an electric machine, sewing and alteration techniques. You will also develop an understanding of fabric types and their uses.
Dressmaking Classes course is offered by Southlands Fabric Sewing Centre. If you have never been in and viewed our store, you are really missing out. It’s like a wonderland of ideas and creativity waiting to inspire you.
Our sewing classes are a ‘sanctuary’ for stress-free learning & enjoyment. Tuition for small groups – a maximum of 6 students per class.
