Here a Llanover Hall we provide a space for the community to take part in hands on learning activities. We offer an opportunity for new learning and deliver courses as part of Cardiff Council's Adult Learning program.
We also have independent courses run by artists and professional practitioners. Whether you are looking to extend your knowledge, meet new people or just to try something different we have a range of courses to suit you.
Patchwork & Quilting classes are offered by New Forest Fabrics for all skill level. We have 6 sewing machines for hire. If you wish to reserve one, please confirm when booking. The charge is £5 per class. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer.
Want to try something new but worried about starting? Getting annoyed over a sticking point on a project? Bought the fabric but don’t have the confidence or know how to make your visions come to life? Or do you just fancy a coffee, chat and a sew? This is the class for you.
If you have never used a sewing machine before, or perhaps it was so long ago that you have forgotten what to do, this workshop starts at the beginning and will take the frustration out of setting up and using a sewing machine.
This course is designed for people who have no / very little experience of using a sewing machine, or who need to update their skills. It will cover how to thread up a machine, joining two pieces of fabric using different seams, turning corners and button holes.
This won't be tutor led, just a friendly meeting place to craft or sew till your hearts content, and in good company!
