We foster creativity and sustainability through reuse. We provide a welcoming, inclusive space to divert materials from the landfill and connect them with people who need them such as teachers, students, artists, and more.

School Programs
Turnip Green partners with over MNPS schools through our Turnip Sprouts after school club, enrichment programs and creativity kits! In these programs, students engage in creative hands-on art programming with 100% material diverted from landfill, and are empowered in the realm of environmentalism!
Community Programs
Our community programs partner alongside other organizations in the community to provide access to education programs that support our mission of creativity and sustainability. Examples of these programs can be a booth at your event, a Teaching Artist coming to your organization, providing creativity kits, or other hands on programming!
Join us the first Wednesday evening of the month to work on the current month's row for the Traverse BOM! The evening will begin with a demo on how the block/row goes together with tips for success, and participants can then stay and work on the row if they wish.
Sewing machines and tools will be provided for students to use; students will provide their on fabric, thread, and notions for most projects. For hourly classes, students will receive instruction and sewing time for 55 minutes, leaving the last 5 minutes for wrap-up and clean-u

Simple 8-panel skirt with options for a flounce or gores. Straight front waistband and elasticized back for comfort. The skirt can fit on the waist or below the waist (low rise) depending on how you adjust the elastic. Cut alternate panels on the bias for a fun look!
Learn how to sew and design your own clothes at Making It SewFun for teens ages 13-17. We'll cover all the basics and then progressively move into more advanced techniques.
