This course is a pre-requisite for many of the post-secondary programs offered by Fanshawe College. This course meets the WSIB 1101 First Aid training requirements for workplaces.
A variety of topics are covered from basic first aid such as cardiovascular and breathing emergencies, CPR, prevention of disease transmission to more severe sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training is also provided with the course. Each participant receives a Red Cross First Aid Manual.Successful participants will receive Canadian Red Cross certification that is valid for 3 years (Note: Some programs and careers may require you to recertify sooner).

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a two day training course, which is similar to Standard First Aid/CPR.
Western Canada Fire & First Aid’s Standard First Aid course follows the new CSA standards and the “Alberta Plus” standards. This instructor-led course is approximately 16-hours in duration and is spread over 2 days of instruction.
Basic one-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines (for adult, children and infants) including use of the AED.
Winnipeg First Aid is pleased to offer workplace-approved standard first aid and CPR courses. This course comes standard with CPR level “C” certification, however, candidates can opt for a higher level CPR HCP to partner with this course.
