Course Description
This course involves the skills and knowledge required to shift loads safely using manual handling methods. Work must be carried out in compliance with the relevant work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations concerning the manual handling and movement of loads.
The course includes assessing the risks associated with relocating the load, planning the relocation process and carrying out the relocation in accordance with the plan. Work is performed under some supervision generally within a team environment.
Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will receive a Statement of Attainment.
Course Assessments
Competency is obtained through both theory and practical assessments. The practical assessment requires you to demonstrate the skills required to be deemed competent. The theory assessment will be undertaken in a written form.
If you feel you will be disadvantaged by undertaking a written assessment, please discuss with your trainer/assessor prior to the beginning of the time for the theory assessment.
