This will develop your awareness and sensitivity to linguistic and cultural diversity that enhances communicative and cultural competence.
Our American Sign Language Basics course is intended for those with no knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and is an introduction to Deaf culture and the Deaf community.
In our Division, Sign Language Interpreters  communicate with and interpret for deaf and hard of hearing students that sign using either American Sign Language or Signed Exact English.Â
During this workshop participants will learn how to sign the alphabet, colors, numbers, animals, foods and basic self-help skills to use with young children.
