DurationBegin your performing arts journey with WAPS Singing & Drama classes! Taught in our music studio, these classes teach the foundations of performance etiquette, incorporating musical and theatrical activities in a fun-filled class where kids have fun while they learn.
Learn how to take care of your voice, and develop your intonation, pitch, rhythm, aural skills and music reading, all while learning fun repertoire to suit young age groups.
Students participate in a range of activities and theatrical games to help build confidence, teamwork, vocal projection, characterisation and stage presence, combining their skills to produce fun and musical routines which they perform with flair and pizzazz!
This course also covers music theory including aural training inspired by the well-respected Kodaly musical education philosophy.
This includes solfa, hand signs, intervals, scales, canons, music reading, rhythm, melodic and rhythmic dictation, and basic elements of conducting, improvisation, composition, and more – you’ll be amazed by what your young child can achieve!

The WA Performance School is Perth’s premier dance and performance academy catering to all ages and backgrounds. We accept singing students as young as 3 years old (that’s right we have a number of fantastic 3 year old singers here) We also have a number of adult students, it is never too late to learn!
Singing lessons are individually catered to you, ensuring lessons are appropriate to age, ability, taste in music, learning style and range.
Children may start half hour lessons from ages 9 to 13. This is to ensure quality learning by not forcing children to concentrate on a specialised task for an extended period and to ensure the maintenance of healthy singing for young voices.
Singing Lessons are offered by Southern Music for all ages and skills. Southern Music has been teaching private music lessons at its city studios since it was established in 1979.
Students range from 7 to 80 years old. Some have a career in music and want to improve their skills while others just enjoy singing for fun. If you enjoy singing and want to gain confidence or improve your singing, why not give it a try.
