The course is delivered by qualified tradespeople that have years of experience working on building sites. The purpose-built workshops are designed to create a real-work environment so students gain the experience of working within the industry.
The course is split into practical and theory sessions that allow students to gain the skills and knowledge to pursue their career as a Carpenter.

This qualification is aimed at learners aged 16 and above who work or want to work in the construction industry and is aimed at people wishing to learn some skills in carpentry and joinery, to progress on to becoming skilled in their chosen trade.
This short intensive course is ideal for those of you who want some introductory carpentry skills. Those who complete the course will be provided with an Able Skills certificate, assured by City & Guilds.
This Course is a stand-alone qualification that will enhance your theoretical and practical skill for anyone that has completed Professional Development Award Level 6 and SVQ level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery.
As an Apprentice Joiner, you could be working on site fitting windows, stairs, skirting boards or constructing partition walls, or you could be employed as a bench joiner making items of furniture such as staircases etc.
The aim of the the Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Traineeship is to develop a broad base of wood working skills and practical techniques.
