Six Sigma is the process of applying tools and techniques for process improvement. There are different levels of certification in Six Sigma that relates to different level of proficiency and expertise. These levels are referred to as belts. The highest level or belt in the Six Sigma is Master Black Belt.

Six Sigma Master Black Belt Training involves learning and building competence in the three areas of :

• In depth understanding of business and statistical tools

• Program Management

In the classroom Master Black Belt Training, the instructor shall work with the participant to understand the key concepts in Lean Six Sigma, understand the tools and skills needs to be a good Change Leader and management of the projects and initiatives taken up for organizational benefit.

The focus in the Master Black Belt Training program shall be to understand the details of managing the projects undertaken by the teams - hence the Master Black Belt will need technical competence on assessing the project as also understand the program management perspective to drive optimum resource utilization and drive success.

Six Sigma Master Black Belt as a professional is mostly an enterprise change management leader responsible for overall management of the improvement initiatives in the organization. Managing the MBB Role entails both change management role and a key driver for organizational lean six sigma project initiatives.

He works closely with the Organization Top Management to identify value directions and strategy focus and then in turn works with the team to identify action plans to meet the strategy.

Alignment of organizational activities to meet the customer need and strategic need are his critical deliverable, managing the preventive framework, set up of measurement system.

From setup of the Improvement Ideation Infrastructure setup and maintenance, to setup of project management practices and governance of initiatives all fall under his purview.
