SOLIDWORKS Essentials teaches you how to use the SOLIDWORKS mechanical design automation software to build 3D parametric models of parts and assemblies, and how to make 2D drawings of those parts and assemblies.

Examples of why 3D drawings are needed will be in Construction, Mechanical and Electrical where overlapping of piping, ducting and building structure can cause a lot of unforeseeable problems when seen in 2D.
