Composition and songwriting can be used as an amazing outlet to let out emotion and channel it into something creative!
Throughout our history, humanity has been inspired to create some fantastic masterpieces across the arts. Whether its Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”, or Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, the creativity of humans is undeniable.
But what comes first? Inspiration or creativity? We would like to believe that the two can come together in anyone to allow them to create something new!
Once each student has achieved a basic knowledge of musical skill, we will begin to encourage composition in addition to regular study as a way to apply their knowledge.
Should a student take well to composing, we offer lessons specifically designed to work on this skill and inspire the creativity in everyone.
In the 21st Century - perhaps more than ever - mental health has been at the forefront of conversation. Composition and songwriting can be used as an amazing outlet to let out emotion and channel it into something creative!
Here at the Hamilton Academy of music we work to unite traditional music education and practical exams with modern techniques and technology to enable students to become adaptable, creative and self sufficient artists. With the ever changing music industry, our goal is to modernize music education and keep music relevant and engaging while still focusing on the musical language and how it connects to all styles of music.
Students are taught at their own pace to understand the musical language which includes reading and writing sheet music, and understanding how scales and chords function and interact in traditional and modern styles of music.
Whether it's analyzing our favorite music, recording our own songs, or preparing for an exam or performance, we are working towards an understanding of the musical language and how it can be used for your specific needs.
