The course will be loosely based on the textbook ‘Talk Spanish 1’ and it would be helpful for you to have your own copy. You are asked to bring pens and paper to each session. Doing extra work at home will help to strengthen your language
skills. Homework will be issued during the course but is recommended rather than compulsory.
A variety of everyday topics will be covered such as introducing yourself, buying snacks and drinks, asking for directions, booking accommodation and shopping. The emphasis will be on speaking, although other activities will include listening to, and reading, Spanish.
The course is aimed at those who have no previous knowledge of the language.
Assessment
Activities and work will be assessed by your tutor.
Course length
Each term lasts 11 weeks.
Attendance
You will be expected to attend every week. If you cannot attend, you will be set work to ensure you meet your
learning outcomes.
You may wish to carry onto Spanish Improvers or to try a different language such as German, Italian or French.
