DurationAt Mi Casa we have a “no nonsense” approach and follow a very structured and easy to follow Curriculum. You can have a Vocab capacity of 1000’s of words, but if you don’t know how to string a sentence together, it is of absolutely no use.
Our courses are aimed at adults and young adults; and focuses on language that can be used in everyday conversation. The best way to learn Spanish and Portuguese is through speaking! Our teaching style is interactive, making learning easier, faster and fun! All our teachers are highly qualified and experienced Native speakers.
We never give our students unrealistic expectations and our emphasis is on grammar, rather than Vocabulary – teaching our students to speak the language through forming their own sentences with the end result of speaking, reading and writing. It is of utmost importance to us that our students learn correctly, progress and have success in learning their chosen language – as not only do we have a 100% success rate and reputation to uphold, we actually care!
Beginners Level
This level is aimed at students who have never had any exposure to the language, or have had some exposure, but never formally learned the language.
We – literally – start from the ABC and then start to build and structure sentences. A little bit of vocab is added with every lesson; so you gradually become familiar and competent to deal with predictable and simple everyday tasks.
At the end of this level you will be able to understand, verbalise, read and write short, simple texts containing familiar vocabulary including basic terminology. The student will also understand and verbalise clear instructions, commonly used everyday phrases and expressions related to the areas of experience relevant to the student (including basic information about themselves, their families, at work, at home, animals, the calendar, fashion, food and drink, verbs, professions, locations, emotions, asking questions, expressing feelings etc.)
With our structured and easy to follow methodology, you will be able to form your own sentences (in the present tense) from as early as your 5th lesson.

In the past 15 years we have faced many challenges and put up a great fight for our South African students, who are non the wiser, to rid the community of being done in by con-artists (alleged Private tutors and many supposed schools – portraying themselves as Spanish or Portuguese teachers / experts and we have gone as far as legally addressing the Department of Higher Education to rid the public of the services these people and schools offer without the necessary qualifications. (Sadly this is still happening and these schools are still in operation)
We believe that in today’s day and age, it is not only expected, but very important that, together with the best teachers, course material and the highest teaching standards and methodology available, we also offer luxury Training Facilities and Government required Infrastructure and currently have two modern and state of the art campuses, very centrally and conveniently situated in the heart of Sea Point.
Mi Casa of Languages will always remain small enough to be considered a Family business. We know all our students by name and provide every single student with individual attention. Our students know that they will never be left to their own devises (to the annoyance of some), but our commitment and only priority is our students welfare and success. We offer transcription, translation and subtitling courses
Spanish Language (Level 1) lessons are offered by Mzansi Language School. Our teaching style is interactive, making learning easier, faster and fun. By practicing day-to-day conversation you will build your vocabulary and understanding of the language your desire.
Spanish Course is Offered by Institut Voltaire of Johannesburg.
Spanish lessons are offered by Alpha Service Provider. We have a staff of professionals having more than five years of experience in the retraining of personnel of many administrations and governments in Africa and around the world.????????????????????????????
