Lingoanna provides one on one teaching to students of all ages in the Whanganui area. Lingoanna's point of difference is that  sessions are solely one on one education, with a specialist teacher, as opposed to education in a classroom challenged by sheer numbers.

The benefits of an intense, hour long one on one session (whether being taught Spanish, Spanish, English as a Second Language or being tutored in Literacy and Numeracy) are :

  • Students have the constant attention of the teacher
  • Students can contribute more
  • Their strengths and weaknesses are addressed more consistently and fully without the competition of other students for the teacher’s time.
  • They can become better learners through learner training with their teacher.
  • There are less time constraints so they can go at their own pace and not feel pressured by the progress of other students.
  •  Low stress environment frees students from the fear of failure.
  • Ability to personalize conversations and assignments
  • High quality interaction where students feel heard
  • Avoids overstimulation and eliminates many distractions.

In addition to Literacy and Numeracy teaching, Lingoanna offers Spanish lessons to students of all ages.  In particular, Anna teaches high school-aged students who are preparing for  NCEA assessments.
