Programme Overview

If you are looking to become any sort of finance professional, be it accounting assistant, accountant, finance controller, Chief Financial Officer, or a new cashier – then this is an accounting diploma for you.

Thisis a not your average diploma in business practice. This is in fact a blend of concepts in accounting as well as the latest technologies that are adopted in SME business context.

Business organisations will appreciate the readiness of our students-graduates. This certificate forms the base for students to head towards a chartered status of certified accountant Singapore. This course will:

• Covers a wide variety of accounting concepts

• Hands on approach to complex accounting topics through case study review

• The basic and essential accounting concepts and accounting topics for day to day work in SMEs

• Provide sound knowledge of the FRS in Singapore based on case studies

• Introduction to management accounting

• Risk management principles in accounting and business activities

• Data analytics and finance principles for work

• Introduction to Professionalism and accountancy bodies

• Organization cultures and the varying roles of the accounting and finance department

This programme is designed to enable students with no prior accounting background to perform essential roles of Cashier, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Executive, and even Finance Manager for SMEs.

By the end of this programme students will easily be able to maintain simple accounting books, present accounting reports, and manage various forms of finance technology such as POS machines, Book Keeping Software, ERP integrations, and Inventory Management Solutions or WMS.

Entry Requirements:

Minimum Age

16 years of age in the year of application

Minimum Academic Qualifications

• O Levels (Minimum 2 Passes) or equivalent (e.g. SPM)

• NITEC (any subject) or equivalent (e.g.NTC2)

• Higher NITEC (any subject) or equivalent (e.g. NTC3)

• Other Foundation Diplomas (e.g. Diploma in Business Administration)

Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants with other equivalent qualifications based on Singapore criterion may be given exemptions on academic qualifications

Mature and Adult Learners

At least 30 years of age and 8 years of working experience may be admitted on a case by case basis with a minimum of 10 years of formal education and certificates that is deemed equivalent by the Academic Board.

English Proficiency

• A Pass (C6) or better for O Levels; or

• A minimum of IELTS 4.5 or equivalent; or

• An equivalent qualification with demonstrated equivalence to the CEFR at level B2 or higher.
