The Exclusive Butler School was founded by John Pettman, Managing Director of Exclusive Household Staff, Exclusive Nannies, Private House Jobs, and Co-Founder of Luxury Yacht Interior Training.

John is an ex-royal butler who started his career at Buckingham Palace and progressed to the British Embassy in Paris. He worked alongside two of our Butler educators to produce a programme tailored to creating the professional private house Butler by providing true British Butler training.

Our Head Butler Trainer, Mark Moynan, is a fully qualified lecturer, and the Exclusive Butler School is currently the only Butler School globally to be certified by a training college, in our case Broadstairs College, part of the EKC Group, in the UK.

Following the successful completion of your Butler training, you will receive a certificate, and the Exclusive Household Staff team will assist you through the recruitment process in order to gain your first private household Butler role or progression in your chosen career, as appropriate. Junior Butler salaries start at £20,000–£25,000 per annum, and a top private Butler can earn in excess of £100,000 per annum.

The Exclusive Butler School also offers bespoke in-house training for private households, royal palaces, motor yachts, hotels, and restaurants, and can travel worldwide to take on any bespoke assignments.

In addition, we provide luxury interior yacht training, giving you practical experience and confidence from a private house background as well as expert knowledge within the yachting/chalet industry.

Our Vision

The Exclusive Butler School is passionate about providing the very best training to the next generation of aspiring Butlers as well as improving the skills of those currently working in the hospitality industry.

With this in mind, our partnership with Broadstairs College, part of the EKC Group, resulted in the creation of The Exclusive Butler Academy, which works with Level 2 and Level 3 hospitality students to gain expertise and knowledge while also providing opportunities within the hospitality industry. One Broadstairs College student per academic year will be selected to receive a fully-funded placement on our exclusive two-week Butler School course.

We aim to utilise the in-depth knowledge and abilities of our Butler trainers, giving our Butler graduates every chance to progress to the highest level within the private household world, regardless of experience and background.
