STA Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding
The STA Pool Lifeguarding qualification has been designed to give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that are needed to provide constant poolside supervision of a swimming pool and working within the leisure industry.
This course is ideal for learners who would like to work as a lifeguard in a swimming pool or leisure centre in a pool supervision capacity.
The course involves both a practical and theory examination and is valid for 3 years. Learners need to be 16 years old at the point of assessment and must meet the following pre-course requirements:

The course is comprised of two units. Unit One, includes first aid, CPR and water rescue skills. Unit Two will determine your ability to apply the skills and knowledge acquired in Unit One to a work-related environment.

The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is the official Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) qualification required for lifeguards.
Course designed for those needing a higher level of water safety and rescue training. Â Learners will cover hydrology, wading, swimming (aggressive & defensive), knots, anchors, pulleys, lowers, vectors, tethered rescues, running rescues, safety systems, welfare and medical considerations, and PPE.
Knowing how to prepare and maintain a healthy and safe pool environment.
