Successful students earn a 3-year Standard First Aid certification and one-year BLS Provider card.
We drive life-saving medical breakthroughs, advocate for better health, and bring together the brightest minds to improve diagnosis, care and support. Our key priorities are:
Prevent The Surge Of Heart Failure
Anything that can damage the heart can damage its function. Today, close to 800,000 people in Canada are living with heart failure, with about 100,000 diagnosed every year.
They face a complicated, deadly disease that diminishes their quality of life. Heart & Stroke brought together cardiac experts and organizations to launch a national action plan.
This plan tackles heart failure on all fronts: advancing research, preventing heart damage, creating new treatments, and improving diagnosis and access to care and medications.
This level of CPR is ideal for those working in or planning to work in the health care field.
Basic Life Support (BLS) teaches participants how to respond to emergences with basic life support skills.
This course focuses on the delivery of high-quality CPR to improve survival outcomes.
This course introduces participants to Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support.
You may also benefit from having your Basic Life Support level if you are a professional with a fire service or rescue team, a sports medicine professional, a lifeguard or a ski patroller. If you are not a first responder or medical professional, you may need CPR Level A or C.
