Standing Up, Speaking Out

This course aims to give service users the confidence and skills to voice their views and be more actively involved in developing and running services they use. The session will be participative, interactive and fun. You will be working in pairs and small groups, learning from each other’s experiences and through case studies.

The course is for service users who want to have a say in influencing mental health services and will include:

• Feeling confident and thinking positively

• Body language and non-verbal communication

• Influencing and negotiating with others

• Understanding and challenging professionals

• Involvement scenarios

• What next – opportunities to get involved
