I remember the first time I knew that I wanted to be behind the camera. I was in 8th grade and my family was at Disney World for the first time ever. I was overjoyed by everything, the rides, the castle, the atmosphere, everything.
I was completely obsessed with wanting to remember everything, just in case I never got to come back. For some reason, I was particularly fascinated with the statues and the characters around the park and I remember using my dad's Blackberry to take photos of all the ones that I could find.
Learn the fundamentals of filmmaking through workshops and hands-on moviemaking exercises with everyday equipment, working to bring an idea to production.
You will learn everything that goes into creating a film and your final film will be eligible to screen at multiple showcases produced by Austin School of Film. A portion of this class includes feedback of work-in-progress.
In this class we will be working together to write, shoot, direct, edit and produce a short film. Members will work with staff to set up a production schedule, assign tasks, and find useful resources for their film.
Through hands-on demos, including how to create a compelling cooking demonstration, learn the core techniques and how to apply the compositional skills of the still photography to DSLR filmmaking.
The film director is in charge of the creative aspects of a film, ensuring their vision of the story gets to the screen in the face of constant chaos. Are you up to the challenge?
