Course Details

The EIT | Te P?kenga Strategic Financial Management short course is perfect for those who work in management and want to broaden their career options by adding financial management to their current skills set.

The course involves approximately one hour per day of study over four and a half months; comprising online self-study, a weekly online Microsoft Teams session and two half day workshops.

You will learn to use advanced financial tools to identify and critically analyse financial opportunities and risks in organisations to support strategic decision-making and to create value for your organisation.

This course will have broad appeal, including appeal to people who may not have an undergraduate degree but have significant industry experience. An undergraduate degree is not necessary if participants have significant work experience (this does not need to be in finance).

 

Who is eligible to enrol?

Anyone who has:

  • Significant industry experience (this does not need to be in finance); or

  • An NZQF-listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent).

 

NB

  • Part-time study is only available to domestic students.

 

Delivery: 

Delivery of this course is a combination of online self-study, a weekly online session and two half day workshops (timing to suit participants).

Overall, participants will need to commit 7-10 hours per week, with a total commitment of approximately 150 hours (including self-study, Microsoft Teams sessions, workshops and assessment preparation).

 

Venue:

  • The workshops will take place at a time and location to suit course participants. It is likely we will hold workshops at each of our campuses, depending on enrolment.
