wo key issues: how to prevent stress in the first place; then how to release it effectively if you are stressed. These training courses will provide suggestions for both.

We all know that stress - particularly persistent stress - is unhealthy and diminishes personal effectiveness and happiness; so preventing it is something worth achieving.

But sometimes, despite our best efforts, we will get stressed, so we need ways to manage and release stress that are safe and healthy. These training courses offer useful and practical strategies for prevention and release.

Stress Management Course Content

Definition and causes

The starting point is to define exactly what is meant by stress: is it the same as pressure, and is it always harmful? And then - what causes stress - because if we are aware of, and can control the cause, we obviously can control or at least minimise the effect.

How stress works: the TEBI model

To understand how stress works, we need to clarify four key stages: trigger-emotion-behaviour-impact. A trigger creates and emotional response which in turn creates a behavioural reponse which will in turn have an impact: on yourself, on others, and/or the situation.

These training courses examine this model in detail, and discuss the 5 positive interventions you can take to minimise or even remove the impact of each step.

The stress response

How come two people facing a potentially stressful situation, will react differently? How much does personality. lifestyle and the nature of the trigger affect how likely we are to be stressed?

Our stress response questionnaire will help you identify your personal mix of these factors, and therefore, which particular stress management responses are likely to be more or less successful.

Preventing stress

A summary of the main suggestions for preventing stress occurring in the first place.

Releasing stress

You can’t always prevent stress, so we provide ways to help you reframe your experience of ‘stress’ and enable you to release it positively if it occurs.

Helping others who are stressed

You may work with others who are struggling to manage their stress, so we will look in detail at what you can do to help them.
