Professional anger management services in Hertfordshire
HAMA is the professional centre of expertise in anger management, stress management and conflict resolution in Hertfordshire. We work with individuals and groups as well as education and healthcare providers in the private and public sector.
Not expressing our anger causes it to grow, intensify and spread to anyone and anything that gets in the way. Expressing our anger destructively causes harm to ourselves and others, leaving us feeling dissatisfied and isolated, and in extreme cases in trouble with the law.
Often, we harm the ones we love - wives, husbands, children, family and friends - as well as causing problems in our workplace.
It is important that we learn to acknowledge that we are angry and understand what triggered our anger in the first place. We often react in anger before we stop and think, and then find ourselves having to deal with what can be very painful consequences.
The Beating Anger programme
The Beating Anger programme is the first step in learning how to make a change. The Beating Anger programme is designed for people with all levels of anger problems. We concentrate on supporting participants in defining their relationship with anger.
The Beating Anger programme includes a combination of anger management theory, experiential processes and facilitated support. These tried and tested techniques have been proven to be highly successful.
The four stages of Anger Management
Early recognition:
Understanding the causes of anger, knowing the different anger styles and recognising anger in your body.
Containment:
Focusing on physical techniques which include breathe work, mindfulness and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).
Healthy expression:
Learning conflict resolution strategies and healthy solution-focused communication.
Resolution:
Understanding and coming to terms with historical components of anger, leading to releasing and recovering from them.
This stress management training has been developed to help participants identify the causes and effects of stress and to assist them in developing the skills required to manage stress in the workplace including their own stress and learn techniques and strategies to support staff.
Stress is universal. Evermore people are confronting stress, overload, and the strain of time limitations in their lives. Some stress is essentially good because it stimulates you to face challenges.
The focus of the session is to provide managers and by extension the organisation with an understanding and grounding in stress and its outcomes, so that they can better support staff – and themselves – to personally prevent and manage stress.
Addressing the real world issues of stress in the workplace, stressful living and dealing with stressful environments
We provide training courses for managing stress, handling stress, reducing stress, in fact all work related stress issues.
