Nigel Magowan is a mental health professional who has trained to a high standard. He is an experienced Manchester Psychotherapist /Counsellor, who integrates psychotherapy with EMDR, CBT, DBT Skills, Somatic Therapies, AF-EMDR, DBR, NLP, Life Coaching, and Clinical Hypnotherapy.
He is a UKCP Accredited and Registered psychotherapist, and a Registered Member of the BACP. He is qualified to offer mid to long-term psychotherapy and counselling, as well as time-limited short-term therapies such as brief psychotherapy, CBT, EMDR, clinical hypnotherapy, life coaching, NLP and ecotherapy.
He uses a flexible integrative approach to his work. His psychotherapy training was with the UKCP accredited Beeleaf Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in London.
He has also received additional specialist training in working with trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD, complex trauma/childhood trauma, Personality Disorders, traumatic attachment, anxiety and panic attacks, anger management, addictions, OCD, shame, treating IBS, treating insomnia, managing pain, stress management techniques, teaching mindfulness, and ecotherapy.
Nigel is also a fully trained and accredited supervisor and is able to offer clinical supervision to other psychotherapists and counsellors, as well as complementary therapists such as hypnotherapists, NLP practitioners and life coaches.
Since 2002 he has run his own busy full-time private practice in Manchester. In the past, he also ran his own private therapy practice on Harley Street in London.
As well as his private practice he also volunteers his time as a psychotherapist and counsellor for charities in the Greater Manchester and Stockport area.
He has done literally thousands of client sessions over the years. He helps people with a whole variety of cognitive, behavioural and emotional issues.
