Are you looking for something new to do? Join our Sewing Club! We help teach adults, teens, and kids the art of sewing…as well as help with projects you may be working on. Anyone can join…. whether you have sewn for years or just started, everyone will be working at their own pace!
In Learn To Sew Club, kiddos age 5-8 will learn a mix of hand sewing and machine sewing (yes, they will learn to use a sewing machine! WOW!), focusing on working those fine motor skills, delaying gratification and expanding attention spans and encouraging self-patience.
Learn sewing vocabulary and techniques as you create a pull on skirt with your choice of three different lengths. You will learn how to read pattern instructions and what the symbols mean. Sewing class is offered by Color Me Empowered for all skill level. Color Me Empowered was organized in 2008 by Kristen E. Rice, an art teacher at Polk Elementary in Dallas ISD. We work with school-aged children in out-of-school-time and in-school programs in the Dallas area.
