In this course, participants learn how to lead teams towards higher productivity by learning techniques to improve efficiency. Participants learn the true roles and responsibilities of a supervisor and understand leadership skills that is needed for effective supervision. Participants will also learn how to deal with conflicts and how to handle disciplinary issues among team members participants will learn how to communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback to team members and peers.

In this course, participants will learn:

Content

  • In this supervisory skills course, participants learn how to build teams based on trust, and common goals by effective supervision Carry out the roles and responsibilities of a Supervisor effectively

Module 1 – Understanding your role as supervisor

This module will get participants to understand their true Roles and Responsibilities as a key member of the Operations team that ensures Company strategies are executed and prescribed goals achieved.

Module 2 – Building a high-performance team

Participants will learn how to build enthusiastic team players that will support Department objectives, and in the process, learn to get the best performance out of every team member

  • Using Effective Communication – to understand the common mistakes made and steps to rectify · Activity/Debrief
  • Motivating employees – To understand the power of motivation and ways to use it to propel to high performance · Activity/Debrief

Module 3 – Managing conflict at the workplace and handling misconduct

Participants learn how to effectively manage conflict that occurs at every workplace.  They shall learn how to defuse tension and refocus efforts towards productivity. They will also learn the salient points to handle Disciplinary/Misconduct matters and how this can encourage productivity.

  • Learn causes of conflict and how to manage and overcome using a process · Case Study/Real Life Case/Debrief
  • Learn NOT to avoid Disciplinary matters but use it as a way to encourage productivity · Case Study/Debrief

Module 4 – Sustaining a high-performance team

At the end, the goal is for all team members to remain motivated and profess self leadership to sustain performance and achieve or surpass goals. This module concludes the end result for every supervisor ie for each subordinate to perform at the best level with minimum guidance
