Course information
You will learn about the knowledge and understanding needed to work in a school or college environment. It can apply to the many varied roles that full and part time support staff may fulfil including administrative roles, site support roles, technical roles, volunteers, and roles that work directly with children and young people in the learning environment.
There will be a mixture of tutor demonstrations, class activities, working in groups and as individuals.
Most courses will have some distance online learning, so a laptop/tablet/smartphone and internet access will be needed to study. You can discuss this when you enrol. We may be able to help.
You will need basic digital skills to work online
You will need to keep your work organised in a file
To enrol you must complete an initial assessment and pass at Level 1 or above.
You do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to enrol on this course.
What could this course lead to?
When you have successfully completed this course, you may be able to progress onto L2 Supporting Teaching and Learning Certificate or another course with the Adult Learning Service (ALS)
