Entry Qualifications
The Western School awarded Professional Diploma in Swedish Massage is an entry-level course and no formal educational qualifications or previous experience are required. However, students should have good proficiency in the English language and be reasonably physically fit. Lots of enthusiasm is also helpful!
Assessment
The Western School’s thorough assessment processes ensure excellence among graduates and help earn the school’s unrivalled reputation. As with many schools, award of the professional diploma is based on a process of continuous assessment throughout the course, but additionally, and very importantly, home practice, homework (with feedback), final oral, written and practical assessments and the completion of formal case studies ensure that the graduate is fully prepared to enter the profession as a demonstrably highly skilled therapist.
Access
The premises at GCU used for Western School courses have full disabled access. Additionally, the school has a commitment to working with students with special needs. A significant number of therapists who have graduated from the Western have done so despite challenges such as dyslexia and visual impairment.
The Western School was established in 1997 and is a respected training organisation dedicated to providing quality education across the field of massage and related topics. We provide professional courses designed to meet the needs of all therapy practitioners whether they are first-time students or experienced practitioners.
The Western School aims to meet and exceed the requirements of the relevant professional bodies and the emerging standards proposed by the Government and to train competent and safe therapists in a positive, motivated, enthusiastic and enjoyable environment.
