how to support children and young people’s education
safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing
understanding and managing behaviour
observing and assessing children and young people

English as an additional language
working with parents, carers and wider families
working with agencies and services that support children, families and carers
reflective practice and other forms of professional development
In addition to the core content, each student must choose one of the following specialisms:
early years educator
assisting teaching
supporting and mentoring students in educational settings
Work Placement
Includes 9 weeks employer industry placement, 21 weeks if you take the Early Years Educator specialism

Become a superb Primary teacher at LJMU. Graduate with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for the 3-7 or 5-11 age range (PE and mathematics specialisms are available for the 5-11 age range).
T Level programmes are designed to provide progression routes into skilled and technical employment, higher or degree apprenticeships, or university.
Our courses will enable you to develop the knowledge, skills and experience required to work in Early Years settings, such as primary schools and creches.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) course is an introduction to teaching that will give an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training.
Designed as a one-year, full-time course of study initially, with the option to continue studying for a second year in order to complete the full Sports Coaching National Diploma.
