Where will this course lead?

The T Level Technical Qualification in Education and Childcare forms part of the new T Level in Education. The outline content has been produced by T Level panels based on the same standards as those used for apprenticeships. The outline content formed the basis of this qualification and has been further developed by NCFE.

The T Level Technical Qualification in Education and Childcare meets the Early Years Educator criteria and has been recognised and approved by the Department for Education. Holders of this qualification (only those that have taken the Early Years Educator occupational specialism) may be counted in early years foundation stage (EYFS) staff: child ratios and have a licence to practise.

The T Level Technical Qualification in Education and Childcare (Level 3) is a two-year programme which provides a route to employment or progression to Higher Education.

The course carries a maximum of 168 (Distinction*) UCAS points.

Year Two - You will choose an occupational specialism

Early Years Educator

  • Support and promote children's play, development, and early education

  • Develop relationships with children to facilitate their development

  • Plan, provide and review care, play and educational opportunities to enable children to progress

  • Safeguard and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of children

  • Work in partnership with colleagues, parents, carers, and other professionals to support children's development

Assisting Teaching

  • Support the class teacher to enhance children's education, individually and in groups

  • Plan, provide and review educational opportunities in collaboration with teachers and other adults

  • Safeguard and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people

  • Recognise, adapt, and respond to individual children's needs, including those with special educational needs and disability (SEND), to support development and access to the curriculum
