Whether you want to work with children as a fully qualified early years practitioner in an early years setting, progress to university to train as a teacher or progress to another field within the early years sector this is the right course for you.
You will be taught by industry experts who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the education and childcare course. The qualification carries license to practice, which means you will be qualified at Level 3, to work unsupervised with children.
What will I learn?
You will learn all the key aspects of child development and how to support children's development through practical activities. How to support equality and promote diversity with children, how to work with families and professionals and how to support children with special educational needs and disability.
As part of the course, you will participate in 750 hours of placement in an early years setting. This will enable you to become confident in your work with children. Universities are very positive about the quantity and quality of the placement hours you will gain, as you will start your higher education journey with key skills that other applicants do not have.
Work Experience And Industry Placement
are an integral part of all full-time study programmes at the College; they are an exciting opportunity to develop your industry skills and knowledge for your future.
You will have a dedicated Placement Officer who will support you throughout the placement process, based in the Careers Hub on your Campus.
