Being recognised for its invaluable health benefits, today people mostly practice tai chi as moving meditation to promote health, improve mental alertness, memory and overall wellness rather than as a form of martial art.
At WELBY Holistic Healing we love teaching you the underlying meanings, martial applications and intent of each individual movement. Begin your Tai Chi journey with this fundamentals beginners course and enjoy a relaxing workout while getting healthy. Our 10 week term courses build a solid foundation for you to successfully learn Tai Chi taught by our government and industry accredited instructors.
TaiChi class is offered by Heaven Man Earth. Tai-chi Chuan (Taiji Quan) translates as Supreme Ultimate Fist. It is a Chinese martial art said to have been created by Chang San-feng (Zhang Sanfeng) the mystic figure of Taoist legend said to have lived in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
Practising Tai Chi helps with balance, coordination and develops core and leg strength. Tai Chi challenges us to learn through direct experience, harnessing and balance the mind-body connection and enhancing mental function and flexibility.
Our Tai Chi classes take place every Monday at the Suncare Community Centre gym. We offer one hour beginner and intermediate classes, conducted as part of a 10-week program.
