There's warm-ups, cool-downs, stretches and exercises all the usual things people do in these types of classes.
Yellow Crane Tai Chi is a school dedicated to promoting Tai Chi Qigong and Traditional Chinese Kung Fu to the Neurodivergent community. Run by and for Neurodivergent people we do things a little bit different whilst still maintaining traditional teaching methods.
Our Mission
At Yellow Crane it is our goal to introduce Neurodivergent people to Tai Chi and its potential as a tool for coping with the complexities of living with our conditions in a busy, modern society. We aim to provide a safe, judgement free and accessible environment so as many of our community as possible can have the opportunity to give it a try. We also aim to provide for all the parents, carers and health sector/charity workers who look after our community somewhere to come and have a chance to relax and unwind.
T'ai Chi is a system of holistic training, with a series of martial arts moves and techniques consisting of carefully coordinated natural movements. The slow movements of T'ai Chi are graceful, powerful, relaxed, balanced and meditative.
There are many different forms of Tai Chi and our particular style is from south East China. It is a pure white crane form called, Shuang Yang Bai Hè Rou Ruan Quan, and in English it is Frost and Sun White Crane soft and gentle flowing art.
Tai Chi is a complete system of movement that uses mind and body together to promote health and wellbeing.
The sequences I teach are yang style, and are short, circular and delicate forms, where the players learn the principles of tai chi: relaxation, breathing and focused intention.
Learn the 24 forms of the ancient style of Chen Style Tai Chi with master Vinny Ly, including warm up exercises, meditation and Qigong (silk railing) as well. Each session includes a 1.5 hour lesson followed by an optional 30 minutes practice time and opportunity to ask Tai Chi master
