Chris is a qualified teacher with more than 40 years teaching experience. Chris started to learn Tai Chi in 1994 with Steve Forde. Her learning and subsequent teaching were soon overseen by Dan Docherty.
Who has recently awarded Chris with a level 9 teaching certificate Chris has travelled throughout Europe and U.K. to learn from Dan and his senior students. Notably Godfrey Dornelly and later Carl Burgess.
Tai Chi is a complete system of movement that uses mind and body together to promote health and wellbeing.
Tai Chi Class is offered by College of The Third Age. The exercises we practise from this system are slow, controlled, relaxed movements. They are all performed in a standing position
Jian Taiji co-instructors Ian and Janet have been exclusively studying the Chen family style of Taijiquan since 1996 and have both been awarded instructors certificates from the Wenxian Research Institute of Taijiquan by Grandmaster Chen Zhenglei.
Our personalised instruction makes learning easy and enjoyable. We also provide instructional videos, podcasts and training guides exclusively to our students.
Tai Chi requires no equipment and only minimal space for practise. Even so it is an effective form of exercise that improves body condition, suppleness and strength.
