Beginning Continuing and Advanced Languages
Beginning courses are for students with minimal prior experience in the language. Continuing courses are suitable for students with a basic working knowledge of everyday usage of the language.
Building on prior language learning, such as completion of language studies in high school. Advanced courses are for students who are background speakers with significant prior use of the language.
Canberra Academy of Languages
The Canberra Academy of Languages delivers courses in languages for senior secondary students who wish to study languages that are not available in their day schools or through other registered providers.
Students receive unit credits towards the ACT Senior Secondary Certificate and if their course scores in languages are among their best four, these contribute towards their ATAR.
Students may be school-sponsored or family-sponsored for the cost of enrolment. We suggest that students who are doing their language course with CAL as part of their core study program may be sponsored by their college.
And that those doing course with CAL in addition to a full study program with their college may be family-sponsored.
