Our Tap classes use Tapatak OZ and the CSTD curriculum. Tapatak OZ was created by Australia’s most well-renowned tap instructor, Christine Denny. The CTSD curriculum instils a strong foundation for correct tapping from an early age.

Creative Dance Academy has a 25 year 100% pass rate in all tap examinations with most students achieving marks of Distinction. There is no other dance school in NSW that can boast such excellent results. Examination students are also given the opportunity of attending annual workshops.

Tap dance was created from a fusion of European and West African cultures evolving through many eras to the tap that we know today with metal plates screwed to the soles of the shoes to create the iconic “tap” noise.
Using metal plates on the soles of shoes, tap dance creates rhythmical sounds and teaches timing, musicality and creativity.
Get down and pump out the sounds. Easy to learn no matter what age!
