Formally owned by Jana Kolacz, DanceWorks Geelong is now owned and operated by Dimi Sunderland. Dimi has a wealth of experience in dance training and education and strives to provide quality dance education to each student who steps foot in the studio. Dimi has a keen interest developing her student’s technical ability as well as ensuring they are learning in a fun and inclusive environment.

Students learning Tap, will develop a keen sense of balance, rhythm, timing and musical awareness by percussive footwork that marks out precise rhythmic patterns on the floor. We teach a routine in the class It is performed at the Mid Year and End of Year Shows.
This lively, rhythmic tapping makes the performer not just a dancer, but also a percussive musician. Tap dancing is a vital part in a child’s dance education due the rhythmical factor involved, helping them to develop an acute sense of musicality.
