In this class we will make music with our feet! Students will explore rhythm and syncopation through fun movement exercises, incorporating footwork, body percussion, and improvisation!
Tap dance is achieved by using the sounds of metal plates on the bottom of each shoe (at the heels & toes), hitting the floor as a percussive instrument.
Tap uses different rhythms and syncopations to add style and sound to movement. Exercises in this class focus on building flexibility of the knees and ankles, in addition to coordination and speed of movement
Tap Dance Classes are offered by Gena's School of Dance for all ages and skill level. Genas dance school has been a fun studio for many years. We are certified through dance educators of America.
This class is for students who are brand new to tap. If you have never had a tap class before this class is for you! If you don’t have tap shoes we have a limited selection of loaner shoes; you can also wear any hard-soled shoe for your first class
