Our studio offers annual Examinations from Rosette Level 1 through to Level One to Nine plus the Solo Performance Diploma.
Choreographed by Keith Clifton (USA) the NZAMD American Tap offers students and teachers the necessary training and progression to become an accomplished tap dancer. We are proud to have NZAMD trained tap dancers performing in theatres around the world.
The syllabus is suitable for dancers from 3 years to adults.
We are a dancing school based in Upper Hutt – offering lessons in tap, ballet & jazz. We teach all ages – our youngest student is just 2 years old. We have been teaching dancing in the Hutt Valley for over 50 years!
Our desire is to develop the love of all forms of dance in our students, boosting their confidence levels and giving them a good foundation to dance and musicality.
We are registered with the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance enabling the kids to complete their annual dancing exams. We teach both New Zealand and American Syllabi.
For those students that would like to take dancing a little more serious, we do offer private lessons, and group competition classes as well, enabling the kids to compete in local and regional competitions.
Ages 6 and up. Emphasis on rhythm and musicality.
The NZAMD American Tap Syllabus is a rhythmical, exciting and enjoyable syllabus created by Keith Clifton (USA).
Fantastic for timing, coordination and control, tap movements and routines are set to popular songs. Open to five year olds and over.Â
The Beginner class will learn tap techniques throughout the year while learning exercises and combinations
Tap is examined internally at HSPA. Our tap classes always feature in our annual show.
