Tap Dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one’s tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. As such, it is also commonly considered to be a form of music. Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm (Jazz) tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap focuses more on the ‘dance’ and is widely performed as a part of musical theatre.

Join us in celebrating our 23rd season! Established in 1997, North London Dance Centre offers more than 80 classes per week for children and adults at our beautiful studios located at 1055 Sarnia Road, in London, Ontario.
Our recreational and vocational classes are all taught only by qualified and professional instructors, to maintain the high quality of dance instruction we are known for. Our teachers actively work in the arts community as performers, choreographers, and educators, and love sharing their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm with their students.
Class consisting of complete tap instruction involving a warm-up, progressing stationary steps, and travelling steps across the room along with learning a routine for competition.
Tap dance classes are offered by Dance London. Tap is one of the oldest American art forms. It arose from a huge melting pot of ideas, customs, music and dance styles.
Tap is the percussion of dance. Rhythm and musicality are the focus of this class. All styles are taught from soft shoe to hoofing.
We follow the ADAPT Tap Syllabus. Students may be eligible for Tap exams at the discretion of the teacher.
This maximizes personalized attention and quality instruction. All classes are once a week, with the exception of Christmas and March Break. We are open on all holiday Mondays except for Family Day.
