  • Teacher's Experience
  • At the age of 4, Julia was enrolled in her very first ballet class at the Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance. Soon after, she began attending jazz and tap classes, and her training in hip-hop, contemporary and lyrical soon followed. Over the course of her eighteen years dancing, she spent the majority competing with her studio in Mississauga until graduation in 2016. Her competitive years awarded her with individual and group overalls, as well as scholarships from different competitions. Her junior year of high school, she had the privilege of receiving her studio’s scholarship award for her dedication and commitment to dance. Her most memorable experience was travelling with her friends and teammates across Ontario and in the United-States. She excelled under the direction of teachers and choreographers such as; Angela Mahoney Jones, Eryn Waltman, Dani Matte, Kelly Shaw, as well as National Ballet Cecchetti-trained teachers. Concurrent with her attendance at the University of Toronto where she worked on her Honours Bachelor of Science in the field of Psychology, she found herself tiptoeing into Toronto’s commercial dance scene. She spent two years primarily training in jazz funk and heels. Julia gained the opportunity to perform in 6 productions with over 20 staged performances at various Toronto venues under the direction of Chris Clarke. This experience led her to begin working with some of the city’s most talented choreographers on several music videos and video projects. Her performances accompanying various artists occurred at The Great Hall, Mod Club Theatre, and The CAA Centre to name a few. Julia has had the opportunity to exercise her passion for teaching with beginner dancers in high school, as well as elementary school students in an academic setting. It is her pleasure to be joining the team and to share the joy she has for dance with the students at Goddards Studio.
