The Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training program is designed to educate individuals and companies about the safe transportation of hazardous materials by ground.

The purpose of the training is to ensure that those involved in the transportation of dangerous goods understand the hazards and risks associated with these materials and can take appropriate precautions to prevent accidents and minimize their impact.

The TDG training program covers a wide range of topics, including:

  • Hazard classification and identification
  • Proper labeling, marking, and documentation requirements

  • Safe handling, storage, and transportation practices
  • Security measures to prevent theft or misuse of hazardous materials

  • Regulations and compliance requirements under TDG and other relevant legislation.

The training can be provided by a certified TDG trainer or taken online through various courses and training programs offered by accredited providers. Upon completion of the training, individuals will receive a certificate of completion, which is valid for three years.

Employers are responsible for ensuring that their employees who handle or transport dangerous goods receive TDG training, as required by law.Proper TDG training is essential for maintaining a safe environment during the transportation of dangerous goods.

It ensures that everyone involved in the process is aware of the hazards and risks associated with the materials they are handling and can take appropriate measures to prevent accidents and minimize their impact in case of an emergency.

Dangerous goods put people, property, or the environment at risk due to their chemical or physical properties. The hazards associated with dangerous goods greatly increase when they are moved or transported. Accordingly, Canada’s Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Act ensures public safety by specifying strict regulations that must be followed when transporting these types of materials.

Anyone involved in shipping or receiving dangerous goods requires training on TDG regulations and must be aware of what they are handling, what its hazards are, and what to do in case of an emergency.

This TDG training course provides an overview of the TDG regulations and teaches how to recognize and handle dangerous goods. You should ask your supervisor or employer about any special equipment or specific training required for handling and transportation of these dangerous goods.

Once you have completed this course, you will be better informed about the importance of complying with the regulations for TDG. Staying safe is the number one goal!
