Teaching: Award in Education and Training Level 3 Part-Time

Entry requirements

• You are expected to hold a Level 3 in your subject specialism although this is not essential

• It is desirable that you have GCSE English Grade 4/C or above or hold a Level 2 in literacy

• You must be aged 19 years or over to study for this qualification

You will take part in an enrolment and information session plus an interview prior to being enrolled onto the programme.

You will achieve

• The Award in Education and Training Level 3 accredited by Training Qualifications UK.

• (This qualification is a replacement for PTLS).

Course overview

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introduction to teaching. This will give an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching sessions.

You will study:

• Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training

• Understanding and using inclusive approaches in education and training

• Understanding assessment in education and training

How will be i assessed?

• You are required to complete written assignments and a micro-teach to be achieved at Level 3.

  The assignments are broken down into smaller assessment tasks, which have an emphasis on creative and ‘hands on’ learning.

What equipment will i need?

• You will need to provide your own writing materials, paper and ring binders. A calculator and dictionary are also desirable.
