During the course you will learn team leader responsibilities, how to provide direction to the team, and communicate this effectively.

 

Objectives:

  • Understand team leader responsibilities and how relationships are managed within an organisation
  • Understand the importance of managing yourself and how to provide direction to the team to meet organisational, team and individual objectives
  • Understand how to communicate knowledge and information in a workplace including how to plan and allocate work to the team using SMART targets

  • Leading the Team
    • Developing productive working relationships with colleagues
    • Communicating and working professionally with colleagues
    • Taking account of diversity issues when developing productive working relationships
    • Identifying the importance of exchanging information and resources with colleagues including feedback
    • Understanding leadership styles and ways of motivating, supporting and encouraging teams
  • Managing Yourself and Providing Direction
    • Managing your own knowledge and understanding and the ways to achieve this
    • Identify why managing your own skills and time is important
    • Identify the requirements of a work role and how to set SMART objectives
  • Communicating information and knowledge in the workplace
    • Identify the types of information and knowledge that need to be communicated and how it is communicated.
    • Adapting communication, using verbal and non-verbal communications and modifying to ensure effective communication
    • Identify how to adapt communication techniques with team members
    • Planning and allocating the work of the team using SMART targets
    • Agreeing standards of work
    • Monitoring and assessing performance and recognising achievement
