When players are ready, they can play in the Red or Orange Ball leagues and then progress to playing for a Te Kura Hagley Park team in the Canterbury interclub competition.
Te Kura Hagley Park Tennis Club is based in the heart of Christchurch in Hagley Park. The idyllic setting beside the Botanic Gardens is central to the city, but feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
We are a thriving club that welcomes players of all ages and abilities, and pride ourselves on our friendly, social atmosphere. We have comprehensive coaching and playing options for social and competitive, junior and senior players. In 2017, The Te Kura TC and Hagley Park TC joined forces to become Te Kura Hagley Park Tennis Club (better known as TKHP)! Our club has an great range of playing surfaces to suit all players. We have 6 plexipave courts (all floodlit), four synthetic grass courts (two floodlit) and 18 lawn tennis courts!
We are thrilled to announce that the Te Kura Hagley Park Tennis Club was named 2018 Club of the Year, at the Tennis NZ Awards held at the ASB Centre in Auckland.
As invited guests, we were on hand to receive the Trophy and Certificate which is on display in the Club House! A big thanks to Tennis Central Region Inc. for the nomination! A merger of two Clubs is no easy feat, and it would seem this is acknowledgement of the success ours has been in the time we have been TKHP!
The perfect class for the beginner or player returning to tennis after years of absence. This class will show you the basic strokes of tennis and introduce you to rally play. Bookings essential.

Adult Tennis Coaching is offered by Mt Eden Tennis Club. Great tennis coaching is a big part of the club. From beginners who want to learn, through to the competitive souls who want to polish up their game at a high level.
Tennis Xpress is an adult beginner programme. It’s social, fun, and you learn the basics of the game. It’s a great way to get back into tennis, or a good starting point if you have never played before.
Tennis (Junior Coaching) course is offered by Lynfield Tennis. While Junior coaching is our primary focus, we can help if you're a beginner starting up tennis, someone looking to fine tune your game, or someone looking to lift your game to the next level.Â
