The Genuine Beginner (Sewing)

In these six evening sessions you will learn how to create four of our in-house sewing patterns and master a range of techniques to get you confidently started on your sewing journey. By the end of the course you will have a range of beautiful, functional items for your life and home.

This course will enable students to make traditional wearable garments. Come along to join our creative sewing class to enhance your sewing skills. During this course you will learn many new sewing techniques and methods in drafting sewing patterns for wearable garments.

Our Learn to Sew Stage 1 Sewing Course is designed for complete beginners or those wishing to brush up on existing skills. When students arrive they are taken through setting up a sewing machine, either their own machine if they choose to bring one, or one of ours.

Want to try something new but worried about starting? Getting annoyed over a sticking point on a project? Bought the fabric but don’t have the confidence or know how to make your visions come to life? Or do you just fancy a coffee, chat and a sew? This is the class for you.

This class is perfect for total beginners. You will be shown the basics of the sewing machine; how to thread a machine, wind on a bobbin, sew straight lines, turn corners and finish seams. You will produce a cushion and you can decorate it too if you wish.
